MANILA, Philippines — The southwest monsoon or “habagat” will trigger rains over Luzon and Western Visayas on Tuesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“The southwest monsoon or habagat is currently affecting Luzon and the western section of the Visayas. The weather system continues to bring rains over much of Luzon and parts of the Visayas,” Pagasa weather specialist Veronica Torres said in Filipino.
Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected in Luzon, including Metro Manila and Western Visayas are expected this Tuesday.
Pagasa warned that flash floods and landslides are possible in rain-affected areas.
Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected in other parts of the country due to localized thunderstorms./gsg
